about a girl

hi,

so, it's 4:39 right now, and i just can't sleep. my mind's not on anything really, but have you experienced one of those nights when, no matter how hard you tight you try to close your eyes, how much milk you drink, or how much pepsi max you take, you still can't get knocked out? well, i'm experiencing that right now.

then again, i could be thinking about a girl. don't we all? it's usually the case anyway. you toss and turn. then you try to steer your thoughts away from her, then it just ends up going back to her. it happens. yeah, i guess i should admit that it's me thinking about this girl that's keeping me up. i can't really help it. sorry for being a sap. for me, the sheer thought of her brings joy to my life already. wherever i go, the wind whispers her name. every song i hear is dedicated to her. i don't know what's getting to me. oh well.

a few years back, i asked a friend if he can introduce me to this girl, because he knew her pretty well. at that time, i've been wanting to know her for quite a while already. this admiration for her has been long overdue, and i mustered up enough confidence to tell my friend, "i'm ready to meet her" and so he arranged a meeting between me and her, and he introduced us to one another. to be honest i kind of feel bad because i don't remember what time i met her, or where the exact place was. but i do know it was quite a long time ago. what i can say is that to this day i do remember her name.

her name was music.

someone hates me

hi,

someone with the id typecast348 just instant messaged me on yahoo! messaged me while i was offline with the message, "sira ulo kayo"

this person isn't in my list, so i have no idea who this is. and i strongly doubt that this person is part of typecast nor are they associated with them because i'm good with the whole band and their crew. i'm guessing it's a fan of theirs or something.

at the same time, if there's someone out there who hates me well, that just bums me out. however, if this is an aim at my band, this is pretty cool then. if someone hates my band to the extent that someone went out of their way to let me know that, i'm very touched!

peace and harmony?

hi,

i was browsing through people's myspace blogs and i saw someone mention something about harmony within people in music and what not. having spare time to give my thoughts about it, i came up with this.

this is probably an old blog of yours, but i'd like to give my thoughts on the last part of your questionnaire.

it's an interesting thought about the division in music because there are many possibilties why such division is intact, if such division does exist. in my view, all artists have their right to present their works in the medium that they choose to do, that's why it's art. we all have the freedom to do what we want and how to do it. at the same time, whether others will like it or not is up to whoever whoever is looking or listening to it. we all have the right to say something sucks and something is good.

in my view, there's nothing wrong at all with saying something sucks. there's no doubt that even the best artists have had to deal with the worst criticism in their past. look at justin timberlake for crying out loud. he was actually part of N*SYNC, yet his album as a solo artist is simply amazing. my point in this is that, whether people think we do good or bad, we don't mind them and keep working on our art.

going to the idea of bringing people together, it's up to people if they want to get along with each other too. as an artist, one has made their effort by creating their work, and if people do get together and peace and harmony is made, great! if not, keep trying, right? however, if hate is generated, for example, people talking trash and all... that's not cool. these types of people are the ones who just kill the harmony.

i remember reading something dave grohl mentioned that went something like, "no matter how much i don't like a person's music, i can always have the ability to have a beer with them and hang out with them." what people do with their art is one thing, but what they do as people is another.

well, i can go on and on about this subject, but i guess i'll put it at an end here. i don't know if anything i said just made sense or had anything to do with what you mentioned in your last paragraph. i guess i'm just bored or something. so yeah, i'll stop yakking now...

random thoughts:

watching mtv the other day, i noticed more and more filipino bands are coming out with music videos, which is a really good thing for the local scene. however, as good as it is that this is happening, a lot of these videos are so fucking senseless and crappy. please people, i know that we can come up with better ideas that the crap that i'm seeing on tv. and this is what represents us right now?

and why is it that when someone says they like your work, there's an obligation to like theirs as well? then, when you tell them that they suck, it's as if you're a bad person for having an opinion.

it's amazing how you can get a lot of people to hate you for having an opinion even you explain your side so they understand why these things are so.

just a few minutes ago, i was chatting with someone really special. she's on her way here from overseas. what i found really neat was that before boarding the plane, we were chatting while she was in the lounge of the airport there. ain't that cool? she was at the airport... airport drama?

the name airport drama has been around for almost two years now, but it has always been open to the interpretations of people. it just something nice that the name now involves someone this special. =)

i wonder if people pay attention to things these days. see, for the past month or two, i've been making my birthday everyday on my friendster profile. why do i do this? because i can. what amazes me is that even my closest friends who were at my birthday party in mcdo still greet me. (my birthday is in the last week of march) another thing is, i blatantly made a blog (which you can read immediately when you look at my profile)that states that i've been doing this for quite a while already, and people still greet me. oh well. thanks to everyone who greeted me!

in chronological order, today i was able to: record a new demo. hang out with the girl i dig. bought a cap that now makes me be able to match each set of footwear i have with my hat. dropped by quiapo church to ask God to bless my dad on his 62nd birthday. ran into some old skate friends and caught up with how they're doing. then bummed with the usual crowd. was also able to talk to my mom and dad.

i can't say it was the best day ever, but sometimes you just can't help but appreciate days which are filled with good vibes. peace =)
